AbiWord is a lean and fast full-featured word processor, able to import and export documents in many formats (such as openoffice.org, microsoft word, wordperfect). Abiword requires enchant and wv1, as well as a minimum number of GNOME libraries to work properly (libgnomeprint, libgnomeprintui, libgnomecups, libgnomecanvas); all of these are available in the libraries section of develia.org. The abiword-plugins package includes the following abiword plugins: abicollab, AbiCommand, abigimp, babelfish, freetranslation, gdict, google, loadbindings, presentation, urldict, wikipedia, bmp, jpeg, LibRSVG, wmf, applix, clarisworks, docbook, eml, Hancom, hrtext, iscii-text, kword, latex, mif, mswrite, nroff, OpenDocument, OpenWriter, OpenXML, opml, passepartout, pdf, sdw, t602, wml, WordPerfect, xhtml(html), xhtml, xsl-fo, shell.
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-debug --enable-threads --disable-gnomeBluefish is a powerful GTK-based editor for experienced web designers and programmers. Bluefish supports many programming and markup languages, but it focuses on editing dynamic and interactive websites.
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etcDia is a gtk+ based diagram creation program released under the GPL license. It can be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. It currently has special objects to help draw entity relationship diagrams, UML diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and simple circuits. It is also possible to add support for new shapes by writing simple XML files, using a subset of SVG to draw the shape.
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --enable-debug=no --with-pythonGeany is a text editor using the GTK2 toolkit with basic features of an integrated development environment.
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etcgEDA is a collection of tools which are used for electrical circuit design, simulation and prototyping/production. In example it is possible to draw eletrical circuit, perform schematic capture on it and use the result as source for simulations (made with SPICE or similar tools). More info available on the
gEDA project website. This package includes gEDA tools and libraries (in detail: libgeda, symbols, gschem, gnetlist, gsymcheck, geda, utils, docs). In a separate package there's libgdgeda, the image creation library of gEDA.
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-static --disable-debugGerber Viewer (gerbv) is a viewer for Gerber files. Gerber files are generated from PCB CAD system and sent to PCB manufacturers as basis for the manufacturing process. The standard supported by gerbv is RS-274X.
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-staticGnumeric is the GNOME spreadsheet program. It provides import and export support for many file formats (MS Excel, Applix, XBase, ...). This build has been compiled without GNOME support and requires only a minimum number of GNOME libraries to work properly (libgnomeprint, libgnomeprintui, libgnomecups, libgnomecanvas, goffice); all of these are available in the libraries section of develia.org.
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc

--without-gnome --disable-schemas-installMySQL GUI tools includes mysql-administrator (a powerful visual administration console) and mysql-query-browser (a graphical tool provided for creating, executing, and optimizing queries in a graphical environment). Requires gtkmm and libsgic++ (both available in libraries section). A
patch for MQQueryDispatcher.cc has been applied to mysql-query-browser, that fixes a program freeze.
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --with-gtkhtml=libgtkhtml-2.0MySQL Control Center is a panel for MySQL management, with a graphic interface based on QT, which allows to create and maintain database and tables.
The NG-SPICE project, part of gEDA suite, aims to bring a totally rewritten GPL version of SPICE, the famous circuit simulator. Right now the available version is still based on SPICE code and so it goes under the Berkeley's project licence, which anyway allows the free redistribution of this software.
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --with-readline
--disable-static --disable-debugNs is a discrete event simulator targeted at networking research. Ns provides substantial support for simulation of TCP, routing, and multicast protocols over wired and wireless (local and satellite) networks. Requires Tcl/Tk (available in official distribution), OTcl and TclCL (both available in development section).
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-debug --enable-releaseOsmo is a handy personal organizer, which includes calendar, tasks manager and address book modules. It was designed to be a small, easy to use and good looking PIM tool to help to manage personal information. On the technical side, Osmo is GTK+ based tool which uses a plain XML database to store all personal data. Requires libnotify, libical and libgringotts.
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etcPCB is an interactive printed circuit board editor for the X11 window system. More information at
